The city of Étampes has trained six young people, aged 15 to 17, in babysitting techniques, equipping them with essential childcare skills and an aptitude diploma.

This week, the Espace Jean-Carmet in Étampes offered a training program for young people wishing to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for childcare. Six participants, aged 15 to 17, benefited from this learning over the past few days, combining practical scenarios, awareness-raising, business card design, and professional interventions.
Speakers from the Maternal and Child Protection (PMI) provided essential knowledge on child development rhythms, hygiene rules, domestic accident prevention, and how to respond to crying. Rescuers from the French Red Cross also introduced the participants to first aid techniques for effective emergency response.
“

"It was great. I really enjoyed the training, especially when the PMI came to explain how to take care of babies. It was very interesting. With this training, I can start babysitting and save money for my studies and my driving license."
