Étienne Minvielle, professor and research director at the École Polytechnique's Centre for Management Research (i3-CRG), has been appointed a lifetime member of the National Academy of Medicine. This distinction, formalized by a decree in August 2026, highlights his long-standing involvement in public health, hospital management, and innovation in healthcare systems.
A public health physician at Gustave Roussy for 25 years and a doctor of management sciences, his research focuses on the organization and personalization of patient care pathways, the integration of digital technology in healthcare, and hospital quality and performance.
Following two years as a corresponding member, this permanent appointment to the 'Medicine and Society' section recognizes his contributions to research and teaching, particularly on remote monitoring and the use of AI to personalize patient journeys. This position, directly linked to the President of the Republic, involves advising the government and responding to official consultations on health matters.
