The grand return of cinema to Boussy-Saint-Antoine is imminent. Starting October 2026, the Val d'Yerres Val de Seine Agglomeration will implement a traveling cinema program at the Gérard Philipe – La Ferme hall. This project, in partnership with Cinessonne, the association of Art & Essay Cinemas of Essonne, aims to allow residents to rediscover the pleasure of cinema screenings close to home, following the closure of the Buxy cinema in May 2023.
This new cultural event will feature recent films, professional projection conditions, and accessible prices, aiming to satisfy residents of Boussy-Saint-Antoine and neighboring towns. Afternoons will be dedicated to schoolchildren with a tailored program, while evenings will open to the general public for family or friends' outings. The restaurant Les Planches, located nearby, will offer dining options.
The program will run until the summer of 2027, with screenings scheduled at 8 PM, including an open-air session on July 9. Film details and schedules will be announced later. Ticket prices are set to remain affordable: €5 for adults and €4 for children. A reduced rate of €4 will apply to job seekers, large families, seniors (upon proof of status), and Cinessonne cardholders. Residents of retirement homes will benefit from a €2 rate.
The first screening is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026, at 8 PM in the Gérard-Philipe hall. The film shown will be « De la comédie Française », starring Pauline Clément. The plot follows Nina, who is unveiling her first stage direction at the Comédie-Française, facing delays, stress, technical issues, and ego clashes during the final rehearsals, in a race against time to save the performance.
