As the end-of-year holidays approach, Paris Ouest La Défense, alongside eco-organizations Ecomaison and ecosystem, is organizing the Great Toy Solidarity Collection. From November 2 to 30, 2026, residents are invited to drop off their unused games and toys at one of the collection points in the area. These donations will then be entrusted to the YOTI association.
In French households, a toy remains stored for an average of 5 years before being discarded, and 27% are still thrown in the trash. This collection aims to promote reuse and recycling. Reuse actors, who create jobs for social integration, meticulously sort, clean, and repair damaged or incomplete toys, allowing nearly 2 out of 3 toys to be reintroduced into the solidarity circuit. For toys that are too damaged or irreparable, recycling takes over, with Ecomaison handling non-electric toys and ecosystem managing electrical and electronic products.
All games and toys in good condition or repairable are accepted, including electric or electronic toys, indoor toys (dolls, figurines, plush toys, construction sets), board games and puzzles, outdoor toys, and small toys from children's meals or magazines.
Collection points include the Mairie (Town Hall) at 68 Bd de la République, the Médiathèque (Media Library) at 20/22 Rue de Châteaudun, the Agora at 20 Rue de Stalingrad, the Maison de la musique (Music House) at 8 Rue des Anciennes Mairies, the Centre culturel (Cultural Center) at 16 Av. Jean Salmon Legagneur, and another Médiathèque at 5 Av. Jean Salmon Legagneur. More information is available at jedonnemesjouets.fr.
