Professor Assaad Zoughaib from Mines Paris - PSL presents SixGrid, a unique experimental platform designed to test multi-energy systems under near-real-world conditions.

In response to the demands of the energy transition, the coordinated management of various energy vectors (electricity, heat, cold, gas) has become essential. To address this challenge, Mines Paris - PSL has developed SixGrid, an innovative experimental platform.
This infrastructure, operating at a near-industrial scale with a capacity of up to 1 MW, utilizes Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) technology. It allows for the integration of real physical equipment with digital models to study the complex interactions between different energy forms in real-time.
SixGrid aims to assist industries in bridging the critical gap between promising innovation and its integration into real energy systems. By testing equipment and their interactions in a controlled environment, it helps de-risk investments and identify potential difficulties before full-scale production deployment.
Presented at the Mines Paris Research Day 2026, this project highlights the vital role of research infrastructure in bridging the gap between scientific experimentation and industrial conditions, thereby accelerating the deployment of future energy solutions.
