The association Môm’Art, which assists museums in developing family-focused initiatives, welcomes the Mineral Museum of Sorbonne University. The museum, boasting an exceptional collection and extensive experience, already offers numerous fun and educational activities for young audiences.
These initiatives include "holiday Tuesdays" featuring science workshops, "tell me about a pebble" a storytelling walk through the collections for ages 5 and up, and "the quest for the stone lizard" a treasure hunt to learn mineral names, shapes, and colors. School visits are organized year-round, with educational tools available online or at the reception.
By signing the Môm’Art charter, the Paris-based museum joins a prestigious network with a presence in France, Switzerland, and Belgium, including institutions like the Centre Pompidou, the National Navy Museum of Paris, and the Contemporary Art Museum of Bordeaux. This membership aims to boost the visibility of Sorbonne University's scientific collections, foster inter-institutional exchanges, and improve museum practices.
This commitment underscores the museum's dedication to making science accessible to society. Young visitors will be able to take photos, utilize adapted facilities, and participate in educational and fun activities designed for learning through play. The museum continues its mission to open up knowledge to children.
