Université Paris Cité Éditions publishes on October 16, 2026, two new works in its « Longue vue » collection, dedicated to photography and visual heritage.

The « Longue vue » collection, which explores the links between photography, history, arts, and sciences using rare archives, is enriched with two new publications. It already includes one work, « Étienne-Jules Marey. Chronophotography, sciences et arts », released in October 2025.
The first book, « Avec Michel Butor. Portrait ultrasensible », explores the relationship between literature and photography through the author and poet Michel Butor. It echoes an exhibition running from October 19, 2026, to February 3, 2027, at the Musée d’Histoire de la Médecine.
The second book, « Traverser le monde. Le tournant photographique de l’Exposition universelle de 1867 », revisits a key moment in the history of photography. It will be accompanied by an exhibition at the musée des Archives nationales from November 25, 2026, to February 22, 2027.
« Traverser le monde » recounts the 1867 Universal Exhibition in Paris, a large-scale event systematically documented for the first time, notably through over a thousand stereoscopic views.
« Michel Butor, portrait ultrasensible » reveals a new facet of the poet, a science enthusiast, by juxtaposing his artist's books with rare and precious old scientific documents from the collections of Université Paris Cité.
