Facing harassment and cyberbullying, the Phare initiative, launched in 2021, provides students, families, and educational teams with tools to prevent and act.

Repeated insults, violence, exclusion, and humiliation, whether occurring in the classroom or on social media, constitute school bullying. To prevent these situations and support students, the Phare initiative mobilizes educational teams, students, families, and partners.
This plan is based on five pillars: educating to prevent, forming a protective community, intervening in cases of harassment, involving families and school partners, and mobilizing student democracy bodies. Prevention is central, with at least 10 hours of annual activities for students to understand bullying, learn to react, and develop empathy, respect, and conflict management skills. Events like the 'No to Bullying' Days and the 'No to Bullying' prize complement this awareness campaign.
When a situation is reported, interviews are conducted with the students involved, witnesses, and families, and protective measures are implemented. In cases of proven harassment, reinforced responses may lead to disciplinary actions. Unusual lateness, repeated absences, declining grades, isolation, anxiety, or behavioral changes can be warning signs.
The main challenge is to encourage open communication. Student ambassadors participate in identifying situations in middle and high schools. The essential message to victims is to dare to speak to a trusted adult and not to remain alone.
