The city of Meaux will come alive with gourmet discoveries and family entertainment during Brie Happy, taking place on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11. This event is a prime opportunity to celebrate local produce, with a special focus on Brie AOP, whose centuries-old history will be highlighted.
The program is set to be rich and varied, including a producers' market with over 40 local artisans and producers, the traditional 'grande lichette' (large slice), a parade of brotherhoods, and the National Brie de Meaux Competition, which will crown the best producers. Cooking workshops and culinary shows will entertain food lovers, while concerts, a mini-farm, pony rides, and the Brie’Nja Warrior obstacle course will punctuate the weekend. Food trucks and a street sale will complete the festive offerings.
A new feature this year is a Brie éclair tower, conceived by the French Federation of Cuisine and the Institute of Craft Trades of Pays de Meaux, with all sales proceeds going to a charity. For the younger attendees, the Brie’Nja Warrior course is offered in pairs with an adult for children aged 6 to 13, by reservation.
The event is entirely free and open to all, taking place in the heart of Meaux. Market hours are 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 6 PM on Sunday. It is advisable to leave space in your bags for local purchases.
To get to Meaux, the line P of Transilien is recommended to Meaux station, followed by a walk of about ten minutes to the city center. Please note that works are scheduled on line P from Saturday 3 PM to Sunday 2 PM, affecting service between Paris-Est and Chelles – Gournay. It is advised to check your route on the Transilien website or the Île-de-France Mobilités app.
