The 3919, the national helpline for information and support for women victims of violence, recorded 108,241 calls in 2025, an increase of 7.8% in one year. These figures highlight the scale of the phenomenon and the need for continued mobilization. The City of Livry-Gargan is conducting prevention, awareness, and support actions, relying on the involvement of municipal services and numerous partners, as specified by Lise Choneau, municipal councilor in charge of combating violence against women.
As part of this annual program, a film debate will be held on Wednesday, November 25, at 7:30 PM, at the Centre Culturel Cinéma Yves Montand. The film L’Affaire Marie-Claire, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and Cécile de France, will be screened, followed by a discussion with the audience. An advertising campaign against violence against women has also been deployed throughout the communal territory to inform about existing aid resources.
The City aims to make its commitment long-term, with actions adapted to all ages. Equality-themed activities will be offered in leisure centers, while the Youth service will organize awareness sessions for young people. Interventions with 4th-grade middle schoolers and high school students will focus on romantic relationships, consent, and violence, particularly through social media. A "violentometer" will be available in municipal facilities to help identify toxic behaviors.
To support and protect victims, a social worker is present at the Livry-Gargan police station. A legal expert from the Centre d’Information sur les Droits des Femmes et des Familles de Seine-Saint-Denis holds a regular session at the Centre Municipal de Santé. Two municipal accommodations, provided by the Groupe ABRI, offer temporary shelter for women victims of domestic violence in emergency situations.
