On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, the City of Chelles and its partners are offering awareness and prevention actions throughout the month.

On Friday, November 13, the Van Info Femmes, set up by the CIDFF Île-de-France, will be in Chelles to provide a confidential and free exchange space. Professionals present will inform about support systems, victims' rights, and available tools, such as the national number 3919 or the Demandez Angela initiative. The van will be available from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Terre Ciel shopping center parking lot, and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Place Jean Moulin.
An advertising campaign will also be deployed throughout the city on urban furniture to raise awareness among all residents of Chelles, including victims, as well as stakeholders and witnesses, in the fight against domestic and intra-family violence.
On Saturday, November 28, starting at 6:30 PM, the stage at Les Cuizines will host the 4th edition of the event « Seule la musique peut me toucher ». For five hours, local artists will perform in rotation for an evening whose proceeds will be fully donated to the association AVIMEJ – France Victimes 77. Entry is by free donation (from €2, cash).
The Demandez Angela initiative, launched in 2025, allows anyone in danger to find refuge by simply saying « Où est Angela ? ». To expand this network of solidarity businesses, an information evening is organized on Wednesday, November 18 at the Hôtel de Ville for interested shopkeepers, aiming to extend network coverage, especially in outlying areas, and enhance safety for all.
Domestic violence can take multiple forms: physical, sexual, psychological (humiliation, blackmail, isolation), economic (control of resources), and digital (online harassment). To assess a situation, the Violentomètre offers an online self-assessment tool.
To find help, several resources are available: the free and anonymous national number 3919, the Espace Solidarités/CCAS of Chelles at 01 64 72 84 96, the Departmental Solidarity House at 01 64 26 51 06 or 01 64 26 51 03, AVIMEJ – France Victimes 77 at 01 75 78 80 10 or via www.avimej.org, and SOS Femmes (Meaux) at 01 60 09 27 99 or by email at contact@sos-femmes.com. In case of immediate danger, dial 17 or 112.
