The first phase of renovation work at the Épine-Guyon kindergarten in Franconville is complete, providing children and educational staff with a brand-new extension including 5 classrooms and additional facilities.

The start of the school year marked the completion of the first phase of renovation work at the Épine-Guyon kindergarten in Franconville. Children and educational staff have discovered a brand-new extension, currently housing 5 kindergarten classes, along with several complementary rooms such as a dormitory, a motor skills room, and restrooms. A new classroom and an ATSEM office are also planned.
This construction represents a major evolution for the establishment, offering modern facilities adapted to the daily needs of children and educational teams.
On March 9, 2026, kindergarten and elementary school children had already been able to discover the new refectory. An enlarged kitchen allows for better organization of catering services. Ultimately, elementary school students will benefit from a self-service cafeteria.
Since September 2026, the second phase of work has begun, focusing on the rehabilitation of the existing building. The work includes improving accessibility for people with reduced mobility, modernizing the Fire Safety System (SSI), bringing the electrical systems up to standard, and energy renovation.
The school's transformation project also extends to the outdoor spaces, with the redevelopment of an educational courtyard, green areas, covered shelters, and terraces. A parking area for 32 bicycles complements the setup, contributing to the improvement of the living environment around the school.
This major construction project, which began in February 2025, was organized in several phases to maintain the school's operations. The most significant interventions were carried out during school holidays. The complete delivery of the project is scheduled for the 2027 school year.
This project benefits from financial support from the Région Île-de-France (€800,000), the Conseil départemental du Val d'Oise (€1,750,000), the Préfecture du Val d'Oise (€600,172), and the CAF du Val d'Oise (€150,000).
