The Town of Villiers-sur-Marne is implementing a comprehensive program to modernize and expand its school facilities to accommodate the projected increase in student numbers by 2032.

A new kindergarten, named Anne Frank, will be built near the Jeanne et Maurice Dudragne school. This new facility will include 10 classrooms, a library, a physical activity room, and spaces for meals and before/after-school care. Architect Sonia Cortesse has designed small "house-like" spaces in collaboration with the Town and educational teams to help children orient themselves and feel comfortable in their school. Nature will also play a role in the project.
In parallel, the Édouard Herriot school will undergo a complete renovation. The work aims to better protect the building from cold and heat, renew the air quality, and improve accessibility with an elevator. Windows and several pieces of equipment will be replaced. The objective is also to reduce the building's energy consumption, targeting a 70% decrease in energy use and a 76% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. These are project goals, not yet achieved results.
Further expansions and transformations are planned for other schools. The Jules Ferry and Jean Jaurès schools have already been enlarged to accommodate more students. The municipality also plans to convert Simone Veil school into an elementary school and expand the Charles Péguy kindergarten. Each project is designed to meet the specific needs of the school and its surrounding neighborhood.
In the Marne Europe sector, a new school combining kindergarten and elementary classes is planned to support the arrival of new families. Across Villiers, studies estimate a need for 29 additional classrooms by 2032, guiding the municipality's future investments.
