The Yvelines Theatre festival, organized by the Department, is in full swing, offering 50 free performances throughout the department until November 15, 2026. Among the participating artists is the company Le Cirque dans les Étoiles, based in Aubergenville, presenting « À corps perdus ».
This production, created in 2024 with support from the Île-de-France region and the association Les 400 coups, blends dance, circus, and puppetry. Véronique Calderari, co-founder of the company with Bruno West, explains that the show was born from their personal dreams as a dancer and a musician.
« À corps perdus » utilizes various puppetry techniques, including body puppets, accompanied by original music composed by Gabriel Westphal. The performance invites children to believe in their dreams and persevere to achieve them, a message that also resonates with adults, as evidenced by feedback from grandparent attendees.
Véronique Calderari emphasizes the importance of live performance in the face of screen dominance, highlighting the unique communion between artists and the audience during each show. She encourages the public to overcome preconceived notions about puppetry and discover the diversity of styles available.
The Yvelines Theatre festival features performances of « À corps perdus » in Richebourg (salle Édith Piaf, October 30 at 6 PM), Galluis (salle des marronniers, November 7 at 11 AM), Les Bréviaires (salle des fêtes, November 14 at 4 PM), and Juziers (centre culturel du bourg, November 15 at 5 PM).
The company Le Cirque dans les Étoiles, active since 2009, also offers artistic workshops at its tent in Aubergenville and is touring with its show « Pied de Nez ».
