In response to the fragility of nature in 2026, marked by heatwaves and repeated forest fires, the "Sur la Route des Saisons" festival offers an exploration of the connection between climate and life. For two months, the City and its cultural partners invite the public to understand natural rhythms through activities, workshops, exhibitions, and screenings.
The main exhibition, titled "Au cœur du climat et du vivant" (At the heart of climate and life), will be held in the Exhibition Halls of the Hôtel de Ville from Thursday, October 15 to Sunday, December 13, 2026. It will be accessible from Wednesday to Sunday, from 3 PM to 6 PM, with late openings on show nights (8 PM to 8:45 PM). An opening reception is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14 at 7 PM.
The exhibition will explain the functioning of the seasons and how living beings adapt to climatic variations. It will feature the works of six artists: wildlife photographers Adrien Favre and Théo Bonnefous, sculptor Catherine Bailly, artist Julie C. Fortier with her installation Les fleurs amoureuses (The loving flowers), Julie Laforêt with her plant hangings, and cartographer Perrin Remonté.
Complementary activities include a scientific workshop "meteorology internships" (October 20-23), a baby concert "Piou-Piou et les quatre saisons" (November 3), guided tours "Culture Seniors" (November 4 and 26), and a sensory visit "The nature of toddlers" (November 18).
The Media Library will host several workshops: "Seed Bombs" (October 28 and November 14), "Discovering video games about the seasons" (November 4), "Before the rain, the clouds" (November 14), the storytelling hour "Le Temps des histoires" (November 18), the "Bricks Wargame" workshop (November 21), the show "Histoire en flocons" (November 28), the conference "Understanding (almost) everything about climate" (November 28), and the scientific workshop "The colors of time" (December 9).
The Cinema will screen the documentaries Les Saisons by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud (November 15) and La Panthère des neiges (The Snow Leopard) by Marie Amiguet and Vincent Munier (November 21).
The school restaurants will serve a themed meal "Au cœur du climat et du vivant" on November 19. La Kab’-Mjc will present the exhibition "10 years of shared gardens of Beauregard" (December 1-19) and the workshop "Fresque du sol" (Soil Fresco) (November 25).
The Winter Festival will take place on December 5 with a Christmas market, activities, shows, a concert, a scientific workshop, and a fire show. Creative workshops such as "La forêt en couronne" (The forest in a crown) (December 5) and the collective game "Sur la piste des saisons" (On the trail of the seasons) (December 5) will also be offered.
