Amidst the national high school protest movement, the Jules-Verne and Évariste-Galois schools in Sartrouville were affected by blockades this Monday. External individuals attempted vandalism, targeted equipment and law enforcement, and disrupted the neighborhood.
The National Police and the Municipal Police were heavily mobilized to ensure the safety of teachers, students, passersby, and residents, as well as to protect public buildings. Arrests were made following dangerous behavior observed on site.
Enhanced vigilance will be maintained around both high schools, particularly along the Quai de Seine, due to the possibility of further disruptions on Tuesday, October 6th. The city is implementing measures to preserve residents' tranquility.
The Dispensaire park will be closed to the public. Residents in affected areas are asked not to put out their trash bins, which could be used as projectiles or set on fire. It is also recommended to avoid the vicinity of the establishments as much as possible.
For parents of students, any questions regarding access to schools, class continuity, or justification of absences should be directed to the school teams, particularly via the ENT (digital workspace).
Bus network traffic is experiencing localized disruptions. For safety reasons, some lines may be rerouted or interrupted en route. It is advisable to check traffic conditions before departing.
The Municipal Police will remain mobilized alongside the National Police. The City of Sartrouville is working with law enforcement to ensure the safety and tranquility of its residents.
