In Verneuil-sur-Seine, a large majority of residents chose to maintain two-way traffic on Rue de l'Étang during a public consultation held on Thursday, November 5th.

A public meeting took place at the Espace Maurice-Béjart to discuss the evolution of the traffic direction on Rue de l’Étang. The aim was to gather residents' opinions to improve the safety and tranquility of the neighborhood.
Following a presentation of the issues encountered on Rue de l’Étang by the municipal police, Anthony Herry, deputy mayor for traffic, mobility, and parking, proposed several potential solutions: one-way traffic (downhill towards Verneuil or uphill towards Vernouillet) or maintaining two-way traffic with modifications such as chicanes or parking restrictions.
The discussions allowed residents to voice their concerns based on their usage patterns (pedestrians, motorists, speed, parking, safety), thereby enriching the debate and fostering the emergence of development solutions.
At the end of the consultation, a secret ballot revealed a clear preference for maintaining two-way traffic, which was favored by 82.8% of voters. One-way traffic downhill towards Verneuil received 14.1% of the votes, and uphill towards Vernouillet, only 3.1%.
