The City of Étampes has launched educational workshops in its schools to raise students' awareness about the importance of balanced eating and combating food waste.

School catering in Étampes aims to be a tool for education and awareness of good eating habits. The goal is to teach children to eat well, discover new flavors, and understand the importance of a balanced meal while avoiding waste.
On Thursday, November 5, the Pauline-Kergomard kindergarten hosted the first educational workshop "Let's have breakfast together". About thirty children participated in this activity, led by dietitian Cyrille Chevallier and Isabelle Tricard, Elior's sector manager. The workshop aimed to teach them how to compose a balanced breakfast, combining a drink, starch, dairy product, and fruit, in line with nutritional recommendations.
In the presence of the educational team, Mayor Gilles Bayart and his deputy in charge of municipal catering, Morgane Blot, also enjoyed this fun and informative workshop.
In the afternoon, the Prévert elementary school hosted a second event on the theme "Feast rather than waste". This initiative aims to awaken children to dietary diversity, taste, and the fight against waste.
These workshops are intended to be rolled out in all the City's schools in the coming months, reflecting the municipal commitment to educating younger generations about balanced and responsible eating.
