Following several reports of road deformation and a hole appearing at the speed bumps in spring 2024, the City undertook in October 2024 to renovate the "sleeping policemen" located on Rue du Haras. One of them was particularly damaged. They were planned to be replaced by asphalt structures. However, as soon as they were removed, agents noticed a subsidence in the art structure supporting Rue du Haras above the Yvette.
The affected section was immediately secured to prevent any vehicles from using that side of the road. The City contacted a company specializing in such equipment treatment. This company conducted an underwater inspection. It appears that the structure has been eroded by time and water erosion, significantly weakening it.
The company therefore recommended that the City close the street to traffic as a safety measure pending the completion of safety work. Municipal services proceeded with its closure last December. A passage has been created for pedestrians. The company indicated that this closure should be maintained until the consolidation work is completed.
Works on the networks (water, electricity, public lighting, gas), which require various stakeholders, began in June 2026 and are still ongoing today. Work on the art structure itself cannot begin until after these interventions.
