A security incident has affected the Eau Cœur d’Essonne water company. A digital file containing subscriber information was stolen. According to the National Agency for Information Security, the stolen data includes names, postal addresses, and contract and meter references. Bank details, such as IBAN and card numbers, were apparently not compromised.
The quality of the water and the continuity of service are not affected by this incident. The company emphasizes that it will never ask subscribers for their bank details, a code, or payment via phone, SMS, or email.
