Facing climate emergencies, ARS Île-de-France launched a call for projects for eco-responsible care, selecting 7 winners out of 46 applications to reduce the health sector's environmental footprint.

The national roadmap for ecological planning of the health system, published in 2023, highlights the need for a profound transformation of the sector to reduce its environmental footprint, which accounts for more than 8% of national emissions, and to increase its resilience to resource and logistical flow tensions, as well as emerging health and environmental risks.
In this context, ARS Île-de-France launched in April 2026 the first edition of a call for projects aimed at promoting and deploying eco-responsible care, respecting patient rights (dignity and well-being in particular). The proposed projects were to contribute to both ecological impact and health impact objectives, with equal quality and safety.
Out of 46 applications received, 7 winners were selected. These projects aim for specific objectives such as eco-prescription, dissemination of good practices, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, waste reduction, and reducing exposure to environmental health risks in a "One Health" approach.
The implementation of these projects will last two years, and the project leaders will benefit from support. The winners were chosen for the diversity of the themes covered and the eco-responsible solutions proposed.
