The Twinning Committee of Vitry-sur-Seine organized an open house on October 16, 2026, to showcase its activities and exchanges with three partner cities, with the goal of perpetuating these friendships.

Photos, books, and panels trace several decades of meetings and exchanges fostered by the committee. For 60 years, it has promoted the discovery of other cultures and a spirit of peace and friendship between peoples, through encounters among residents, youth, families, students, musicians, and athletes.
« The first official visit to Meissen dates back to 1973 », recall Carole Amiable and Jacky Guérin, committee members. Today, exchanges continue through cultural, sporting, and musical projects, as well as family gatherings that lead to leisure or linguistic stays.
These twinnings allow for lasting friendships to be forged and for an insider's discovery of a country. « There are friendships that have lasted for decades and were born thanks to twinnings; twinning allows you to experience the daily life of people in their country, which is very different from simple tourism », emphasizes Nadine Rastetter. Jacky Guérin adds: « Twinning brings open-mindedness, an enriching experience. We share others' daily lives, we have a strong and personal exchange. »
The Twinning Committee invites people of all ages to join them to meet other young people, discover new cultures, or participate in collective projects. Contact: jumelagevitry@free.fr.
