Versailles Grand Parc is updating its sanitation regulation with the aim of protecting natural environments and ensuring the proper functioning of networks. Changes include a longer validity period for connection conformity checks, mandatory verification for new or modified installations, and more accessible rules for private systems.
During the sale of a property, the sanitation diagnosis remains mandatory for the seller. It informs the buyer about the conformity of the connection to the public network, particularly regarding the separation of wastewater and rainwater. The 2026 regulation also mandates a check for any new or modified connection, as well as for significant building evolutions affecting connection conditions. This check must be carried out by a service provider appointed by Versailles Grand Parc, at the owner's expense.
The validity period for conformity checks is extended from three to ten years. This extension aims to reduce repetitive procedures, provided that all installations remain accessible and visible, and no modifications have been made since the check. The owner must attest in writing that no modifications have occurred. Regulatory changes affecting conformity criteria may also invalidate the check.
Regarding internal installations (odors, ventilation, pipes), the new regulation more clearly distinguishes the design and operational rules for internal systems from the requirements for water discharged into the public network. Internal plumbing or odor issues are the responsibility of building management. However, anomalies affecting the destination or quality of water discharged into the public network, such as wastewater sent into rainwater drains or the discharge of prohibited products, are considered sanitation non-conformities.
These provisions apply to networks managed by Versailles Grand Parc. For any questions or to prepare for work, the Water Cycle department is available at cycledeleau@agglovgp.fr.
