The Suzanne Liébrard sports center, open since October 19th, offers a new space dedicated to physical and sports activities in Paris. Spanning over 2,700 m2 across three levels, the facility can accommodate up to 300 people simultaneously. It features a wide variety of disciplines, including dance, fitness, gym, boxing, martial arts, and more.
The third floor houses a 435 m2 dojo with two combat areas. Climbing enthusiasts can enjoy a 14-meter high wall, equipped with 12 routes and installed along the entire height of the south gable. This independently accessible space allows climbing activities protected from the weather.
The center stands out for its environmental design. Its structure, walls, and 21-meter high facade extensively use PEFC or FSC certified wood, a bio-based material that helps reduce the construction's carbon footprint. Raw materials, such as raw earth, have been favored to create a warm and natural ambiance, while also providing good thermal inertia.
The green roof is complemented by 150 m² of photovoltaic panels to supply part of the building's electricity. Other features reinforce this environmental commitment: birdhouses, insect hotels, green spaces, use of bio-based or recycled materials, and rainwater harvesting. The project has achieved the silver level of the Bâtiments Durables Franciliens (BDF) initiative by Ekopolis.
