The city of Créteil has inaugurated two new Child-Parent Welcome Centers (LAEP), spaces dedicated to supporting parenting and the socialization of children under 4 years old. These initiatives, supported by the Caf (Family Allowance Fund), are free, require no registration, and are open to children accompanied by a referring adult for a set period.
These LAEPs play a crucial role in preparing children for school entry, by fostering their socialization in a progressive, playful, and stimulating manner. The supervising staff is available to listen, advise families, and discuss children's development, thereby helping to combat parental isolation and burnout.
“Families will be able to participate in welcome and play sessions with their children, free of charge, without registration, and anonymously. Funded by the Caf at an average of 46% of operating costs, this project was developed by municipal services,” explains Yvon Camus, Director of Early Childhood.
The two new centers are located within the premises of the early childhood support centers (relais petite enfance) at la Habette (7, rue du Dr Ramon) and Jean Ferrat (19, rue Charles Beuvin). These openings complement the city's already rich offerings for young child care and parenting support.
The LAEP at la Habette will be open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. It will be closed on Wednesday, October 7th, and Friday, October 9th. The LAEP at Jean Ferrat will welcome the public on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, Wednesdays from 2:15 PM to 5:00 PM, and Fridays from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. It will be closed from Tuesday, October 6th, to Monday, October 12th, inclusive.
