At 26, Florian Godefroy from Val-de-Marne has already directed four short films, including the recent ÉTOILE, which addresses gender equality in the restaurant industry.

Florian Godefroy's love for cinema began with his grandfather, who introduced him to Spielberg films like Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park. These early cinematic experiences fueled his imagination, leading him to recreate scenes in his room and draw inspiration from stories about self-overcoming, such as the Rocky saga.
Transitioning from spectator to creator was not without apprehension. After studying Human Resources and gaining some theater experience, Florian enrolled in Cours Florent. A first experience on a student short film in Nation, though stressful, solidified his desire to direct his own films.
His first short film, Pourquoi pas, draws from his own life and HR experience. He has since directed Rage (about harassment) and Rillettes (about the dreams of roommates), always incorporating elements of his life. His fourth film, ÉTOILE, shot in late October, explores gender equality in the restaurant sector through the journey of a young saucier.
The idea for ÉTOILE came to him in a dream, and the script was further developed with a friend to ensure a female perspective on the subject. Florian considers this fourth short film a technical and ambitious accomplishment.
Last September, with Charles Dutel, he co-founded the association "Les nouvelles bobines" to produce films, web series, and podcasts that highlight young artistic talents. The goal is to promote art in all its forms.
Florian Godefroy's ultimate dream is to turn ÉTOILE into a feature film, see it travel, win awards, and have a screening with the entire team in Villiers. He hopes his work will reach a wide audience and gain recognition.
