Since 2019, the "Mon Bonnet Rose" operation has mobilized volunteers to transform t-shirts into chemotherapy bonnets for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

The town of Houilles is calling for generosity for its solidarity operation "Mon Bonnet Rose". The goal is to collect t-shirts to make bonnets for people undergoing cancer treatment. This initiative, which involves thousands of volunteers across France, aims to provide concrete support to patients.
Donations of t-shirts are requested: they should be clean, soft, stretchy, and in good condition. Sizes L and XL are particularly sought after, as they provide sufficient fabric for bonnet construction.
Collection points are available in Houilles. You can drop off your t-shirt donations at the Vadr’Houilles squares, between the Town Hall and the CCAS, on Wednesday, September 30th, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
Beyond donating raw materials, individuals can also actively participate in the making process. Whether you have sewing skills or simply wish to offer some of your time, your help is valuable for sorting textiles, cutting fabric, or assembling the bonnets.
A sewing workshop will be held on Saturday, October 24th, as part of the pink walk and prevention village event. Led by Estelle Bally, deputy mayor, this workshop will allow participants to make bonnets. The prevention village will take place from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM in front of the CCAS.
All willing volunteers are welcome to contribute to the success of this solidarity action, which aims to bring comfort and support to those affected by cancer.
