From October 1st to 12th, 2026, Université Paris Cité invites the public to the "Savory Science" Festival, a playful exploration of the links between science, taste, and food.

Université Paris Cité launches an invitation to scientific discovery through taste. From October 1st to 12th, 2026, the "Savory Science" event aims to explore the multiple facets of science via food, drawing on the etymology of the word "savoir" (knowledge), derived from the Latin "sapere" meaning "to have taste".
How taste works, its perception by the brain, digestion processes, the role of microorganisms, food chemistry, and their impact on health and the environment are among the scientific questions to be addressed. The goal is to reveal the richness of science through a sensory and participatory approach.
The Science Village, a highlight of this edition, will take place from October 1st to 3rd on the Grands Moulins campus. For three days, researchers, students, and associations will open their doors for experiments, hands-on activities, and exchanges accessible to all, covering disciplines such as food, chemistry, physics, health, and linguistics.
This initiative seeks to sharpen curiosity, introduce new disciplines, and foster a greater desire to learn about the scientific world.
